On the sofa with Gael - Part 5

Mister leather Belgium 2020, Gael, interviews some of the MSC Belgium members! Read the story of Daniel!

Gael: Hi Daniel. It’s good to have you here for a sofa talk. For those who don’t know you, could you introduce yourself?

Daniel: I was born in Ostend as youngest of a family of 4. When I turned 21, I went for a career at the Belgian Navy and served until my retirement. I went through lots of wild waters, both literally and figuratively. I can assure you, it wasn’t an easy thing to be gay in a straight macho environment. But somehow I managed as I wasn’t a softy. After a while I eventually came out in front of my colleagues, which brought me a lot of respect. With my husband Kurt, I share a relationship of more than 25 years. At this moment we live in Blankenberge, but we are planning to move to Ostend next year. My roots are calling for too long.

Gael: Can you tell something about your main fetishes? And how did it all started?

Daniel: Leather is my main fetish. However, I consider a fetish more as an experience rather than an automatic association with sex.

I actually came out of the fetish closet pretty late, I wasn’t even aware of leather and other fetishes while I was at the navy. However, I enjoyed going out in my leather jacket and a tight pair of jeans, feeling like James Dean with just one goal in mind,: scoring.😛

After my time at the Navy, things changed and I started to experiment step by step. I bought a pair of leather pants, followed by a kilt, a jacket and in no time my whole closet was full of leather. I became a regular customer at Mister B Antwerp. The smell of new leather is something that really turns me on.

Gael: Can you combine the love for Leather in daily life?

Daniel: When I am on my own, I rarely wear full leather. I feel more comfortable wearing leather in the presence of like-minded people. So when I am at home for a longer period I start missing the contact with the leather scene. I really enjoy watching other leather guys, and also being watched ;-). 

To desire and to be desired, in leather of course! Sex comes in second place.

Gael: For how long are you member of MSC Belgium?

Daniel:  For Kurt and I, it is our second year as active members of MSC Belgium. I have to say, we hesitated for quite some time, but we finally made it and we don’t regret it at all.

Gael: How do you deal with the corona-crisis?

Daniel: Staying at home isn’t very exiting. I miss being social and going for a drink in a bar. I miss good talks, gossips and clubbing on good music. So yes… I look forward to be able to enjoy life with more freedom.

Gael: A question I keep asking, is where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Daniel: Lying under a palm tree on a tropical island, sipping from my Sex on the Beach cocktail. 😊 But most of all, I hope to stay healthy because I am really planning on living and enjoying this life as long as I can. If necessary with moderation, but definitely with all of my friends.
